Can I use my site even though my domain name hasn't propagated yet?

Even though 1FreeHosting do not provide temporary link while DNS propagation is in progress there is a solution. You will add DNS record to your local computer manually. First of all all you need to know your account IP adress and hostname. You can find this information at control panel section "Account details".

For Windows users

• Locate hosts file in windows is C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc (where C is drive in which you installed operating system)
• Add line to host file with your account details like:

192.168.1.1 account.hostingsiteforfree.com

• Save hosts file and try entering domain in your browser.

For Unix based systems

• You will need administrator permissions to edit /etc/hosts file
• sudo nano /etc/hosts
• Add line to host file with your account details like:

192.168.1.1 account.hostingsiteforfree.com

• Save hosts file and try entering domain in your browser.
